The transition of the mind from the “ordinary” to the “magical” (or, more broadly, the traditionally spiritual) worldview is not merely a rebellion, not simply a confrontation or an attempt to find greater personal value; it is a real revolution, a complete rupture with existing templates and matrices and their replacement by fundamentally different ones.
Only by harmoniously and consistently combining the two traditional approaches (“solve” and “coagula”, purification and realization) can one truly “exhaust” the gilgul, realize the potentials of the mind, and thereby go beyond the necessity of manifested existence (as well as beyond the prohibition against it).
Integration, that is — unification and transcendence, allows one truly to neutralize duality, remove its limiting influences, and thus to attain the purpose of manifested existence.
One of the practical approaches that helps achieve order in the flow of desires is the system of “oaths”
Without falling into denial or into self-assertion at any cost, the Magus finds a truly unique Way of self-expression, self-development, and self-realization
Only if such efforts are genuinely made, if the striving to break free from the conditioned nature of manifested existence is truly unquenchable and truly dominates the motivational sphere of the mind, is it possible to achieve success in it.
The task of the Magus is to exhaust what can be exhausted, transform what must be transformed, and overcome what must be overcome.
It is easiest for the mind to accumulate Power either by entering into interaction with one who possesses that Power or by objectifying within itself those states in which that Power is available.
The Magus does not lose joy while passing through pain; he does not fall into aggression when immersed in battle; he does not get caught in the trap of indifference while striving for equilibrium.
Ziminiar is the “Emperor of the North,” blocking the realizational, creative activity of the mind, “freezing” and paralyzing its living flow.
Falling into contemplation proves just as destructive as falling into activity; both of these tilts deprive the current of mind of fullness and stability, and therefore deprive it of freedom.
By identifying his nature — bringing the current of his mind into correspondence with its essential characteristics — the Magus performs both a microcosmic and a macrocosmic act, contributing to the harmonization of mind as such.
Whatever Way of development the evolution of the mind follows, from the standpoint of the process of manifested being it comprises three principal stages: affirmation, negation, and integration.
