At the degree of Tiphereth the Magus can discern which Way is closer to his heart — development and Creativity or Freedom.
A Magus must neither become a predator himself nor remain a victim of other predators, walking the razor’s edge toward his highest destiny — liberation and the pleromization of mind.
The Magus must clearly understand that his battles are in the center of his world, in his Midgard, both macrocosmic and psychocosmic.
For a Magus it is vitally important to avoid any contact with the enfeebling aspect, and one would have to be utterly mad to toy with this all‑devouring darkness.
Only when his actions reduce the overall amount of suffering in the world can the Magus consider himself an effective warrior.
A clear understanding, identification, and naming of the powers the mind confronts at any given moment makes that interaction more defined, and therefore easier to control.
By understanding the modes in which divine Powers manifest, the Magus can, firstly, avoid unnecessary destruction, and secondly differentiate his interactions with those Powers, thereby significantly increasing the effectiveness of his advancement along the Way.
A successful Magus is one who passes through many battles and survives them
A properly developing Magus not only increases his own effectiveness; he also helps increase the effectiveness of those and the processes associated with him, even without doing anything special to that end.
A high degree of control over the Gates of the mind is an absolutely necessary condition of development, ensuring the most effective use of the opportunities and resources
By clearly understanding the spheres of action of the Powers, the Magus can apply them more effectively precisely where their activity is maximal
The magician must remain unbound, yet avoid the cold void of uniqueness.
To examine “who stands” behind a given influence of the Principle, and how its entire inner hierarchy is structured in that influence, may be extraordinarily — and at times vitally — important for the Magus.
