The World Tree in the Human Being

Such a unified-and-divided picture of the world has, beyond its obvious development, another crucial consequence: the insight into the polarity of the Cosmos.
In truth, this polarity is revealed everywhere: in the idea of the Marriage of Heaven and Earth (by whatever names they are worshipped), in the idea of the dual nature of the human being (material–non-material).
This First Division makes the human being — an analogue of the Macrocosm — like the World Tree, rooted both in the Higher and in the lower worlds, in the depths of Heaven and in the depths of the earth.
In other words, the “coarse” and the “subtle” components of the human being are not only set in opposition to one another (“the Principle of Veles”), but also complete and interpenetrate one another (“the Principle of Semargl”).

As a child of Heaven and Earth, the human being unites within itself their Creative and Generative principles, and the recognition of this fact allows one to take an essential step toward understanding the very nature of Power.

We will see further that not everything is so simple, and just as Yggdrasil has a third root, so too the human being has a third source… But more on this in due course.
