The question a Magus must constantly ask himself is: “Am I not missing my chance right now?”
The Magus is effective when he finds for himself the right balance between “frequent calling” and independence from the “need to call,” without sliding into either excessive ostentation or excessive minimalism.
Control, the chief mark of a disciplined Magus’s mind, is largely directed at preventing his mind from being cluttered with destructive elements.
Magi must resist both the Nakhash, which dooms them to destruction in disunity and solitude, and the Qliphothized Ea, which leads to mutual absorption of flows and, ultimately, to a reduction in their number instead of amplification and resonance.
Acknowledging that the degree of coherence among flows is a significant factor affecting the global energetic climate could serve as a motivating force for overcoming disunity
An effective Magus must be sexual — in the sense that the unifying energies within him must be activated, but he must control his sexuality, and precisely control it, not suppress it and not indulge it.
The more skillful a Magus is at reflection, the more socially adaptable he is, and the less pressure he feels from society and its individual members.
Knowing the nature of Runic flows is, above all, necessary in order to choose the vector of support for an intention as accurately and correctly as possible
Understanding that the ocean of mind is not merely a “sea of illusions,” the Magus trains himself to treat it with the utmost seriousness, permitting no slackness or carelessness in the struggle for his freedom.
The optimal balance between a task and the means to accomplish it, the proportionality of forms and modes of implementation, are the key qualities that distinguish the Magus.
For a Magus it is important to be able to shift the focus of one’s mind from the perception of whole objects to the very process of perception and back; in such equilibrium the mind begins to work “at full power”, reducing the scattering of energy and increasing its efficiency.
It is important not to forget the very duality of the word — on the one hand its importance and its power to bring things into being, on the other its relativity and its limits.
Magic does not merely formalize the destructive elements of mind; it lays out paths to overcome them
